Association of elder service in Nantou County (Pu-Li Senior Village)
Association of elder service in Nantou County has been established since year 2000, devoting to the developments of community of elder care. Our goal is to build up a non-dependent elder-care system. Pu-Li Senior Village and experiments of elder-care system have been growing steadily through policies of !§Plans of contiuned Employment and !§Development for diversified employment opportunities !§ by Council of Labor!|s affairs. With helps and donations of fast-combined houses from Puli city hall, 75 fast-combined houses from YMCA!|s and CitiBank!|s !§one-day-salary donation! , monthly medical services & transportation from Taichung Veterants General Hospital, Pu-Li Senior Village was allowed to be set up and run this senior community in good conditions.
What is the system of !§non-dependent elder-care community! ?
Pu-Li Senior Village, structured after 921 Taiwan earthquake, has been under a new project of elder-care community. The concept is to build up a less or non-dependent elder-care community, Stepforwards, this community will attempt to form an autarkic group. Once this project successes, the new community model will be industrized to make current elder-care system improved.
Currntly, Association of elder service in Nantou County takes in charge of the project of Pu-Li Senior Village. Coordinating with policies of !§Plans of contiuned Employment and !§Development for diversified employment opportunities !§ by Council of Labor!|s affairs, Miss Fang-Chi Cheng, the project director, and her crews make great efforts to bring Pu-Li Senior Village vigorously on the way to achieve the preset expectation and industrial development.
Aging population is the global problem in the world right now. Every family and nation are looking hardly for effective solutions. In the mean time, the example of development of Pu-Li Senior Village might be able to offer , more or less, some helpful and valuable experience for the aging population wave. Association of elder service in Nantou County and Pu-Li Senior Village are really worthy to get more profound understandings on their efforts and development.
How do residents in Pu-Li Senior Village operate for self-sufficiency ?
After establishment, Pu-Li Senior Village takes in dispossessed elders for free charge. !§horrible memories of 921 Taiwan earthquakes vanishing from from people!|s mind by time, but dispossessed elders!| care problems are still there!K! said by Miss Fang-Chi Cheng. She encourages senior residents to be independent and get more outdoor exercise for healthy bodies to reduce medical cost. In order to broaden sources of income and reduce expenditure, residents work organically on different seasoned vegetables, offer !§thankful coffee! and !§thankful buffet, fresh organic juices for visitors. They also have a vendor!|s stall in night market of Cao!VTun County to earn some incomes for living. Today, through helper hands and teachers from the association, residents in Pu-Li Senior Village are able to proudly offer and demonstrate their versatile skills, such as organic vegetables, thankful coffee, pottery artwork, DIY accessories, green fingers, singing & dancing entertainments!K.now the newest idea is to offer memorial old-tasted meals that are allowed to combine with local sightseeing business, and also, to broaden the village!|s self- sufficienct ability for this elder-care industry model.
